It was an uplifting night for independent music at Topgolf Nashville’s venue The Cowan this past weekend, where newly formed non-profit Harmonize Artists Foundation (HAF) and DIFFERENTLY co-hosted their inaugural artist showcase to raise funds for independent artists. The showcase lineup brought together incredible talent across a variety of genres. The fundraiser also included a silent auction featuring a gorgeous Gibson Les Paul guitar, Shure SM58 microphones signed by each performing artist, and more, with event proceeds going toward DIFFERENTLY’s new development program for independent artists.

The crowd and stage were the epitome of positive vibes, and by the end of the night, the entire room felt like family. It was amazing to be in a space where so much love and support for independent music was on display. The best part? It wasn’t just the local audience feeling the energy—this event was livestreamed globally, reaching viewers from Germany, Japan, and beyond.

Southside MAB

I ended up running late to the show and was bummed to have just missed Southside MAB’s set. Even though I missed his performance, the buzz in the room said it all. It was clear that Southside left a lasting impression on the crowd, with lingering energy and chatter about his unique sound and stage presence.

Coming soon - I'll be posting a review of Southside's new album THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

Kira Lynn

Soulful country crooner Kira Lynn had just started her set when I arrived. Her voice was both calming and romantic, carrying the audience through a series of heartfelt songs that radiated vulnerability and sincerity. Each track felt like a conversation, with the crowd swaying in unison, immersed in the peaceful energy she created. One standout moment was her song “Colorado,” which transported me to my childhood and made me long for the mountains where I grew up.

Ainsley Costello

Next on the setlist was the effervescent pop singer Ainsley Costello, whose infectious energy lit up the stage. Self-described as the Elle Woods of pop, Ainsley danced her way to the stage dressed in hot pink and shimmering tinsel, radiating fun and confidence and making the entire room come alive. Her songs, including “Type” and “People Pleaser,” had everyone on their feet, dancing and smiling. Ainsley’s performance was nothing short of electric, reminding everyone why live music can be so fun!

Itz Jaleel

Itz Jaleel wasted no time bringing the heat with his high-energy hip-hop set. From the drop, his intricate flows and superior breath control were undeniably evident, as he performed tracks like “All In” with precision and passion. The highlight of his performance came when he got the crowd involved with “WhatYouMissin’,” turning the audience into an extension of the performance itself. It was my favorite performance of the night and an unforgettable set that had everyone moving and vibing together.

Brady Riley

Last to hit the stage was Brady Riley, the pop-country diva from Chambers County. Dressed in a dazzling bodysuit, Brady’s performance was as glamorous as it was powerful. His rich vocals completely captivated the audience, blending country charm with pop star presence. Most impressive was his lyrical storytelling ability, with songs like “Boy from Chambers County” painting vivid pictures of his early years spent in Texas. The juxtaposition of his style and sound created a level of artistry that I had never encountered in a live performance.
